Iain Duncan Smith, the former Tory leader, said all the evidence showed that children from “two-parent families” do far better in life.

It came as Labour prepared to unveil its plans for new family… Continue

GUARDIANS COMPLAINING ABOUT CAFCASS CASELOAD

Wow Guardians complaining about their Employer.

Whistle-blowing at its best.

The theory of reading documentation, cannot always be taken as the real facts, so children should always been seen as a part of acceptable practice.as in the saying seeing is believing, this would help safeguard vulnerable children, i know at the moment it will not be feasible, with the rise in care proceedings, resulting in a massive waiting list, in some parts of the country, which in some places, especially… Continue

PRESS WARNED OVER FAMILY COURTS

Press warned over family courts

Children may be less willing to discuss sensitive issues during family court proceedings if journalists are given greater access to hearings, research has claimed.

Legislative proposals included in the Children, Schools and Families Bill would allow the press greater access to family court cases.

But according to the report published by the Children's Commissioner for England, Sir Al Aynsley-Green, most children involved in family… Continue

Kids doctor ‘misdiagnosed vulnerable children in care’

Now you can see how children are let down by the system, and the medical profession, by putting inadequately trained profeshionals in a position to assess and examine vulnerable children, who were already a part of the Care System, to be given half an hours training in this specialty, and left in charge, was ,and is a disaster waiting to happen.

To administer medication, without having the child's medical notes, is dam right incompetent,i just hope no child has died due to this Doctors… Continue

FOSTER CARERS BUT KINCARERS SHOULD BE THE ANSWER -WILL THEY LISTEN NO, AT THE LAST RESORT

Demand for foster parents higher than ever across the uk

200151767-001Demand for foster parents is at a new high in the UK as social workers in the UK remove an increasing amount of children from situations of abuse and neglect.

Leading U.K. childcare charity Bernardo’s has issued a report that calls for government support in raising awareness for the need of foster homes. The report, issued today, coincides with the beginning of the charity’s Fostering and Adoption Week,… Continue

COMPULSARY COUNSELING FOR SEPERATED COUPLES

Has Ed Balls just come to this decision, that family break ups could have devastating consequences on children's lives, surely it has been known for decades that don't just harm children, but Parents as well as the extended family. The Government are sticking their noses into family lives enough and is getting to be a dictatorship. I agree with mediation, but if the issue is forced, that could put more strain on a relationship, which could have an even more drastic effect on emotions, which… Continue

jimmys GRANDPARENTS GROUP

Removing the need for grandparents to ask a courts permission to go to court is no significant step forward. It is no legal right to your grandchildren. Scotland has been operating like this for years and it has cost some of our members dearly in legal fees The present requirement of seeking courts permission is like a form of safety net for grandparents who do not have a good case.

If the grandparents fulfil the criteria, Ie have had a close and loving relationship not… Continue

FAMILY GROUP FUNDING-BUT NOT FOR US

Its a pity that some of this money cant be put into some of the family help Group helplines like PAIN FASSIT and FASO,we work tirelessly with no funding, to help both children and families try and stay together, and give advice, and attend child protection case conferences, when Solicitors cannot attend, because Public Law funding does not apply to the former, due to the costs.

We work on a shoe string, with an occasional donation, we offer services on bank holidays, such as… Continue

THIS LOT IS ALL GARBAGE-IT IS A STATEMENT THAT HAS BEEN IN THE PUBLIC LAW GUIDELINES FOR MONTHS

The family fostering clause should be used already, before a child is ever taken into care.

The kincare clause highlighted in the Public Law Guidelines have been in use for many months, but Social Services would rather place children with foster carers, costing millions of the taxpayers money, than placing a child with an immediate family member like Grandparents.…

TRY AND KEEP PRIVATE LAW CASES OUT OF COURT

The best idea is keep these Private Law cases out of the family law court scenario, and try and get the individuals to sort their problems out by counseling, via marriage guidance, there is also a waiting list for Guardians to be appointed, because of the increase in Care Proceedings.

It is a different case if there is violence recorded in a relationship, obviously, that would have to go through via the family courts.

Another problem is the finance involved within Private Law, we are… Continue

Justice on trial

The Criminal Cases Review Commission edited by Michael Naughton

When Ludovic Kennedy died last autumn, every obituary rightly paid tribute to his book, Ten Rillington Place, which told the story of Timothy Evans, the illiterate Welsh lorry driver wrongly convicted and hanged in 1950 for the murder of his child. There have been other admirable books on individual cases of… Continue

IT IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE IS IT?

Children that have been taken into Care wrongly are going to be traumatized even more, its just basic common sense that when an emergency protection order is instigated, and a child is taken from hospital,or a school, and don't get contact with Parents and siblings for several weeks, are going to be left confused, this will relate more to younger children, say a four year old,and could possibly have in their mind, that Mun,and Dad don't love me scenario, and have been dumped.

I remember… Continue

SANDWELL SOCIAL SERVICES FAIL THEIR OFSTED SAFEGUARRDING INSPECTION-SERIOUS CONCERNS

I am really beginning to despair, in regards to so many Local Authority Social Services Departments failing in their safeguarding abilities to protect vulnerable children.

And now Sandwell County Council has received the lowest statistics in 13 out of 15, of its duties in protecting the most vulnerable in our society.

There has been no improvement in their failings from three years ago.

Seriously i am sure a bunch of five year olds could do a better job, than a bunch of… Continue

FORMER DIRECTOR OF CHILDRENS SERVICES FACING MISCONDUCT HEARING

Wow another so called professional being made accountable for unacceptable practice and could be struck of the register.

A highly paid management team member should set a good example as a roll model, with his job description being an assistant director of children’s services.

Trying to encourage a junior member of staff to have a termination in the early stages of pregnancy and other cases sexual harassment, this individual should be kept permanently away from children and young… Continue

YOUTH JUSTICE BOARD ORDERED TO MAKE ITS FINDINGS PUBLIC

For once a report into the restraint of children by the Youth Justice Board has been made public, by a complaint made by the Information Commissioner.

It is in the Public's best interest to divulge such due to the pain that could be inflicted by using these techniques..

The Youth Justice Board have just 36 days to implement this clause, which could improve health and safety, and prevent injury to children and young people.…
