Ending child poverty in the East Midlands: time for action

Ending child poverty in the East Midlands: time for action

Date: Tuesday 23 February 2010
Time: 1.30pm - lunch provided before hand
Location: Pera Conference Centre, Melton Mowbray

Important regional seminar hosted by the Child Poverty Unit and facilitated by the Government Office for the East Midlands. The seminar is FREE but you must book your team's places. This event will tell you
more about the requirements of the Child Poverty Bill, outlining the
responsibilities of different organisations. The Bill means that local
authorities will work with their partner organisations to conduct needs
assessments, develop strategies and deliver solutions that are tailored
to each local area.

The event also provides a unique opportunity for you to have your say on what the statutory guidance for the Bill should look like. The views of local partnerships are vital to the development of this. In
addition, you can find out more about what we are learning from the
child poverty pilots, and details will also be provided on the full
range of organisations that are there to help you in your efforts to
tackle child poverty. Tackling child poverty is everybody's business,
and by working together we can end it once and for all.

This event will help you understand how to book your team's places, you can go to www.ccclimited.org.uk and book on-line right now. Alternatively request a booking form by telephoning Central Conference Consultants Ltd on 0115 916 3104, or by
emailing them on ccclimited@aol.com
