Record number of children in care as social services reach 'tipping point'

A case that i dealt with in the past two years, is totally tragic.

The Mother had died 3 years ago of some form of cancer.

11 year old Boy living solely with his Father, after loosing his beloved Mother to cancer.

The Father was on benefits for various Health conditions, his benefits were stopped and he was deemed fit for work.

He then lost his PIP, and  was waiting for tribunal.

The consequences Father had no  money to feed his Son, the Local Authority failed to help and supply the Father with any finances what so ever.

The 11 year old Boy was placed into long term foster care.

Due to the Fathers financial situation, there was no contact with his Son.

Result, The Father committed suicide.

The Local Authority refused to supply the Father with any finances which could of kept the Boy possibly with his Father.

But as usual Social Workers thought nothing in placing the Child into Foster Care, Foster Carers can earn up to £500 per Child, but not interested in helping the Father financially to keep the tragic pair together.

ALL IN THE NAME OF GOVERNMENT AUSTERITY.
