Volunteer Rights Inquiry calls for greater protection for volunteers

The findings of the Volunteer Rights Inquiry have been released today in a report published by Volunteering England. Whilst acknowledging the importance and benefits of

volunteering, the report goes on to highlight a number of examples

where volunteers have been mistreated or badly managed.

As well as pointing to the need for greater volunteer management and leadership within organisations, the…

CHILD PROTECTION CASE CONFERENCES

Children and young people who are able to understand what is

happening to them, re a ten year old, should be invited to all case

conferences and reviews.

Local Authority’s should inform the young person and parents in writing, and a receipt should be given to them, to prove that Social Workers have given them the letter, these guidelines are mandatory

under the public law guidelines, so make sure that your children, if of

age are attending these important meetings, and…

child/adol. psychiatrist spreading the word

"Alison -I appreciate the connection.

I am a child/adol. psychiatrist spreading the word about child safety

... AKA protecting children from the horrors of divorce. Many children

are overexposed to the failing relationship of their parents. I

published my book to help parents better parent kids duri...ng divorce

and tweak their behaviors - both to the benefit of their children and

the parent-child relationship. Divorce is on a high and consequently so

are… Continue

SHARED PARENTING IN AUSTRAILIA SENT TO ME BY A COLEAGUE

This is a summary of the major points from the most recent research into the

Family Law (Shared Parenting) Act commissioned by the Attorney General on

behalf of the Australian government. The Family Law Act was enacted in 2006

in Australia and already there is widespread concern at its detrimental

effects for children.

The research study was carried out by a team of academics from a number of

Australian Universities from various States, and was co-led by… Continue

LEICESTER MERCURY BLOG

If Social Workers followed the correct guidelines, which they seem to disregard on a daily basis, there would be fewer statistics of Local Authority failings leading to the the injuries, abuse and death of vulnerable children.

How many more inquiry's must we endure, costing millions at the taxpayers expense?

Cleveland, Rochdale, Orkney Islands, Jasmine Bexford, Baby Peter, Victoria Columbie, and many more fatalities up and down the country.

It looks like there is a very serious… Continue

LEICESTER MERCURY BLOG

I made a comment yesterday about PAIN concerns about the large statistics involving forced adoption in Leicestershire,

And now we have the Social Services failings into the horrendous injuries caused too baby B,and the inquiry, which the contents of, should be made public.

In this case, safety concerns and other guidelines were not followed correctly, thus a vulnerable child is let down, and becomes another statistic, the Social Workers involved have been suspended for shoddy… Continue

LEICESTER MERCURY BLOG

am writing with concern, about the Leicester Mercury's freedom of

information request, regarding the amount of children forcibly adopted

in Leicestershire within the last five years, and the alarmingly high

statistics of 500 children.

Under the Public Law Guidelines, Local Authority's have a mandatory

obligation to consider the kincare clause, by placing children with an

immediate family member like Grandparents, before a child is ever taken

into care, but in… Continue

AVRILS RESEARCH

However I've asked my library to acquire a copy of PCAG's Welfare

Benefits etc book, and I've ordered my own copy. Now its a case of

which arrives first. The Dept of Work and Pensions reply to my email

was, in my view, a lot of goobldygook.

I'm seething. If I'm correct job-seeking parents are entitled to £57.57 per child regardless of age of child, plus a 'family premium' of £17.40.

West Berkshire Council's breakdown of… Continue
