I don't think you would ever need any kind of CRB check to babysit your granddaughter - relations don't need to be CRBed as far as I know although I am open to correction.
There was some talk a few months ago that if anybody looked after their Grandchildren on a regular basis, like 3 times a week, you would need to be checked by ISA THE INDEPENDENT SAFEGUARDING AUTHORITY,i think this is still the case, CYPNOWFORUM say no, what do i know?
