A Year Since Bill Bache Died

I cannot believe that is a year since Solicitor Bill Bache died.

It was the morning of our AGM, amid the effects of the Corona virus Pandemic.

Jacqui Cameron called me to say that Bill had died just over an hour ago in Salisbury Hospital.

Bill had been in hospital since boxing day 2020, and passed away on 25/03/2021 due to Corona Virus..

Bills amazing legacy will remain in our hearts forever.

Bill worked as a Criminal Solicitor and Children’s Panel Solicitor representing Parents going through Care Proceedings.

I will not say Bill came to fame because he would not want that, but he was Angela Canning Solicitor and Angela Gaye Legal representation, the two Mothers were jailed for the alleged murder of their babies.

Angela was alleged to have killed their three year old adopted son, with a massive overdose of salt.

After 15 months in jail both Angela and her husband were freed by the High Court appeal.

There conviction was overturned, after hearing new medical evidence that suggested the boy had suffered from a rare condition known as reset osmostat which causes the body to retain salt.

Angela Canning was falsely accused of smothering her two sons 18 week old M in 1999, and 7 week old J in 1991.

Mrs Canning appeal also centred around new evidence that the two children might of inherited a genetic flaw that may of left them with a fatal milk allergy to cows milk and all died after they had been fed, also sudden infant death syndrome was also stated that it could of been cause of death of the two babies.

Yes Bill brilliance with regards to these two cases, as well as many more cases where children were thought to have suffered non accidental injury, but was found at a letter date to be suffering from OI brittle bone disease, as a cause of unexplained fractures.

Bills wonderful, humble and empathetic nature but me at ease the very day that we met him.

It did not matter what time day or night i contacted Bill with a new case, he was always there for myself and the other PAIN advocates and those persons he legally represented.

Bills death has left a huge gap in our lives not only as a colleague but as a close friend as well.

Rest well Bill we will remember you forever.
