I will be writing to Ed Balls in the next 24 hours, with reference to Parents that have not been invited to Child Protection Case Conferences.
One Grandmother that is acting as a kincarer, for her Daughters Child didn't know that the Child's name was on the Child Protection Register.
PAIN won the right for Parents to attend case conferences in the early 1990s, we won this through the private members bills and the MPs, once more we are seeing a downward spiral, which is totally unacceptable.
New Public Law Guidelines that came out in September state, that Social Services have a duty to send out a Pre Proceedings letter, by recorded delivery, or handed to the Service user, with a receipt, to ensure that the letter has been given.
The letter contains times, and dates of case conferences, under the same new Guidelines, it states that Children or teenagers, that are at the stage of understanding, should also be able to attend such meetings..
