Child abuse: injuries that raise eyebrows

Spiral fractures with limited or no trauma is  a classic sign of brittle bone disease .
Blue sclera to the whites of the eye and a child  being small in stature is also a classic sign of OI brittle bone disease.
This is what happened with regards to my case where my son aged 3 had a fractured tibia, after jumping from the side of the bath and landing awkwardly, which caused the fracture, yes it was a spiral fracture ,with no trauma, no bruising or swelling.
Being small in stature is also a classic sign of OI brittle bone disease .
Also pre term babies can also be found to be suffering from vitamin d deficiency that can even be a pre disposing factor in the uterus.
There is also temporary brittle bone disease due to copper deficiency and rickets. and scurvy,.
In the mild cases of OI brittle bone disease even x rays can appear to look normal.
In a case many years ago a  baby was taken into care because of unexplainable fractures the child was placed for adoption .
On the verge of the adoption being rubber stamped , a brittle bone expert diagnosed the baby’s fractures occurring  because of OI brittle bone disease .
An emergency directions hearing took place but even though the Judge admitted the child may be suffering from brittle bone  disease it made no difference as the adoption order had already been stamped and it would be not fair that the child should be taken away from the adoptive parents .
The former is  a scenario what we deal with reference these type of  cases on a daily basis and there are some very good children’s panel solicitors out there that specialises in perceived Non accidental injury.cases..
So if your cases involves an allegation of non accidental injury and is due to explained fractures and other injuries contact us as soon as you can so we can arrange a specialised solicitor to speak to you with regards to legal representation with regards to Family court hearings..
Also there will possibly be  criminal proceedings to challenge as well  if the CPS deems they have enough evidence to prosecute. .
So if  this is the case we have specialised solicitors that can also legally represent persons within the criminal  justice system with regards to Perceived physical abuse?  Non accidental injury cases.
