Children in care shouldn't lose vital support as they turn 18

Our role as a corporate parent is the same as any – to support care leavers practically and emotionally. That doesn’t end when a child becomes an adult.

All County Councilors are Corporate Parents, and that means with regards to all Children's Services, which also means  investigation where Parents feel that they have been wrongly accused of child abuse, and have children taken into care.

It is no great surprise that most of these Councilors are not aware of their Corporate Parent Clause.

In some cases County Councilors have refused to meet with our Service users to investigate their cases.

Our Local Borough Councilor, and Counselor were excellent with regards to my case.
