The PACA members are worried by the inclusion of an advocate for
Justice, Ms Mellor, in the General Medical Council's Expert Group. In
response to their letter I sent this to the BMJ but it was rejected.

------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------

Editor,

In their open letter to Professor Rubin, Bridson et al; say, "You
must know that the inclusion of Mrs Mellor on the GMC Expert Group on
Child Protection, which has been set-up in the wake of David Southall's
successful appeal, is an affront to paediatricians and other professionals
involved in child protection work".

Let us not forget it is an affront to innocent mothers and fathers
and other care givers to be accused of murder because one's child has a
bleeding nose.

When Bridson and other PACA members realize that the so-called Shaken
Baby Syndrome, Shaken/Impact Syndrome, Abusive Head Injury or any such
diagnosis is a fabrication by doctors unable to comprehend the
pathophysiology of Haemostasis and Osteogenesis false accusations of
child abuse will cease.

Until then Ms Mellor's inclusion is perhaps the only way of
challenging irrational allegations of Child Abuse.

I agree with the decision to include her in the team.

Michael Innis

Competing interests:
I have proof that innocent parents are being falsely accused of child abuse.

Even the BMJ are covering up the injustice of the family court arena, with regards to perceived non accidental injury, when in fact children that have been forcibly adopted, via the family court, after the so called medical experts give conflicting medical evidence to support Local Authority adoption targets, many of these children have medical conditions like brittle bone disease.
