Many Grandparents taking on a Special Guardianship role,or Kincare role are left in genuine financial hardship.

Firstly they may not be entitled to means tested Legal Aid, if their savings are above the threshold.

So are left to pay extortionate Legal Fees to become a Party in Public Law Care Proceedings.

Which could also leave them in poverty, and this may prevent them from taking on the Role in the first place.

Let alone care for the children, after savings have been diminished.

Nigel Priestley a Specialist Solicitor who represents Grandparents, and other Family Members taking on a Special Guardianship and kincare roles has won many landmark cases within the High Court Arena, where kincarers or Persons taking on a Special Guardianship role, have been given the same amount of money that a Foster Carer gets.

No Grandparents or Individuals taking on this clause should be left in poverty.

Legal Aid should be granted for these kind of cases.
