Parents Against Injustice
Dear Professor Jeffries,
The False Allegations Support organisation is a voluntary organisation dedicated to providing support to anyone affected by a false allegation of abuse.
We along with you agree that DNA, but we also include the CRB list should not be held on the criminal data base.
We receive and have to deal with those who have been falsely accused of a sex related crime and either the initial police investigation or a
jury find them 'not guilty' a euphemism for 'we haven't caught you this
time' which is what some of those tell us they receive from the
police. They ask for advice on how to have their dna removed and both
these areas can give the normal law abiding person nightmares, and they
have said to us about feeling suicidal.
Most cannot afford lawyers to fight their case to clear their details form the police data base.
FASO, along with PAIN and members of FACT are endeavoring to get meetings with government to address these issues, but we are starting
with the CRB data base as it is affecting family life as the cleared
accused is not allowed back to the family unit with children under 16.
Have you any suggestion that might be usefull to our groups to address government on both issues.
a response would be appreciated.
regards
Margaret Gardener
