I applaud the efforts of looked after children to try and persuade the chairperson of the Social Work task force to involve children and young people in the future training and recruitment of Social Workers.
What a sad state of affairs it is when young service users are not informed, when their key worker is moving onto pastures new and a new professional turns up out of the blue.
I await the outcome of this new project with anticipation, because within the new Public Law Guidelines, it states that Children should be invited to child protection case conferences, if they have the understanding of what is happening, in the cases PAIN are advising on at the moment, the former is just not happening.
