In a lot of cases mediation will prevent long drawn out Private Law cases, within the Family Court Arena, and the need for intervention by Guardians and the expert witnesses.preventing biased reports, and to safeguard Parental Alienation Syndrome with reference to custody and contact battles between parents.
Forced Mediation for Domestic violence victims would be in my opinion a very dangerous option, unless there is clear evidence that the perpetrator is having definite anger management and other counseling.

Value-private law.
