My heart goes out to this young couple; they should at least have been given the opportunity to be assessed in a Mother and Baby unit and under the Public Law Legal Guidelines. Social Services should be considering the kin care clause, by placing the Child with an immediate member of the family.
Is this another Family torn apart, by so called expert witnesses, giving conflicting Medical or Psychological evidence, to gratify Local Authority Adoption targets?
The former will continue tenfold if the children’s charities Coram have their way.
Coram is calling for potential adopters too foster babies, during Care Proceedings.
Placements are being planned before a child is even born, which will see more babies being taken from mothers on Emergency Protection Orders within hours of birth. Again on the scantiest of evidence mothers are being labelled with a personality disorder by some professional that is not qualified to make such a diagnosis - a Paediatrician diagnosed MSBP in one case.
