Draft Leicester City Children and Young People's Needs Assessment (JSNA)

Voluntary Action LeicesterShire and the VCS Representatives to the Children's Trust Board, need to consult you on the Draft Leicester Children and
Young People's Needs Assessment (JSNA).

Decision-makers will use this needs assessment to make critical choices on the services provided for children and young people. Your VCS representatives are concerned
that the current draft JSNA does not take account of what voluntary
groups know about children and young people's needs in Leicester.

You are invited to attend the JSNA Consultation Workshop 10am - 12pm on Wednesday 27 October 2010 where VAL Officers will work with you to
establish what information regarding the Voluntary Sector is absent
from the draft document and prepare a detailed report on the voluntary
sector's understanding of needs and how to meet these.

In addition to this, a simple questionnaire is available on the VAL website www.valonline.org.uk/consultation-draft-leicester-cyp-needs-assessm... for you to complete and submit online. The information gathered from the questionnaire will provide quantifiable data to support the
narrative elements of the VCS consultation response report.

We are aware that Leicester City Council's Review Team is seeking additional information from the sector to inform their Strategic Review
Updates for Family Support and Prevention (0 - 12) and Integrated Youth
Support (13 - 19). However it is important that where possible you
respond to both the Councils request for information and the VAL
assisted consultation, as the response produced through the workshop
and questionnaire will be used to inform wider decision-making on
Children and Young People's services.
