MY THOUGHTS
The London Borough of Newham, have failed to conduct a serious case review into the suspicious death of a child, who was found dead in a bath in December 2010.
Two persons have been charged with murder, the boy was found with serious injuries.
The LA are breaking the law by not instigating a review,a a few other Local Authority’s have also failed to comply as well.this was after Tim Loughton decided that all serious case reviews were going to be made public, for all to see.
If Newham does not carry out a review, its LSCB will be open to legal challenge, according to the Local Safeguarding Children’s Boards Regulations (2006), and the same will happen in reference to all other LAs who have failed to carry out this procedure.
BUT AS WE ARE ALL AWARE NOTHING IS EVER LEARNED BY HAVING THESE REVIEWS AND CHILDREN STILL FALL THROUGH THE NET.
