Family Action Leicester Break the Cycle – Dads Network Meeting

Family Action Leicester Break the Cycle – Dads Network Meeting

Date: Friday 14 January 2011
Time: 10am – 12pm
Location: VAL, 9 Newarke Street, Leicester, LE1 5SN

The main aims of the Dads Network is to bring professionals together in order to share good practice of working with dads and male carers with other professionals.

The group wish to highlight any deficits that dads and male carers are currently experiencing and positively plan how those deficits can be overcome within the confines of the roles of the participants. The Dads Network will also work to ensure that dads and male carers are well represented within the various services and provision within the city.

They would also like participants to act as ‘champions’ within the environments they work, sharing information with colleagues and challenging practice that excludes dads and male carers.

Ultimately their aims are that the work of the Dads Network will be able to positively influence future policies and strategies pertaining to services and provision for parents and that Leicester city will be seen as a national example of how to positively engage with dads and male carers.
