Changing Children’s Lives campaign: Will you get involved?
By laura elvin
These three beautiful little girls need a loving new family – and we are asking for your help.
Sisters Lucy, Stacey and Felicity are just three of 60 children in Leicestershire who are desperate for someone to adopt them or provide long-term foster care.
And today we launch our Changing Children’s Lives campaign, which aims to inspire as many people as possible in Leicestershire to become a foster or adoptive parent in the next six months.
We want to help the city’s Fostering and Adoption Centre find new and loving homes for all these children, and the countless more that will enter the care system.
First-time foster carer Angela has been looking after these three sisters, aged two, three, and four, for nine months.
She said: “They are such loving and beautiful girls. Who wouldn’t want to make them part of their family?
“They have so much to offer. They offer a family a chance to be complete, with three loving little girls, who are all their own characters but all such fun and so affectionate.
“Of course I love them, but I want to keep fostering and this lot need a loving permanent home.”
The youngsters have been in care since August last year after their birth parents could no longer look after them.
Angela has seen them turn from “nervous and lost” babies into confident and loving little girls, and now wants them to find a new home where they can grow up.
The 46-year-old said: “Two-year-old Lucy is a cheeky little monkey and everyone who meets her falls in love with her – she’s got that butter-wouldn’t-melt look.
“Stacey, who is three, loves to be cuddled, and Felicity, who is four, is a girly girl. We call her Princess and she loves it. She loves helping me out and loves looking pretty.
“It’s going to be hard to give them up – I’d keep them forever if I could – but they deserve what all kids deserve – a loving and stable place to grow up. I just hope someone can offer them that.”
If you think you can help, or want more information about the campaign, ring Leicester City Council Fostering and Adoption Centre on 0116 299 5800.
Leicester City Council is currently looking after nearly 500 children.
About 80 per cent of them are placed with 250 foster families around the city and county, while the rest are in children’s homes or living independently.
Last year, 42 local children were adopted into 33 new loving families throughout Leicestershire. But there are still more children who need your help.
Around the county, 21 children – all under the age of nine – are desperate for a family to adopt them.
Some 39 youngsters between the ages of two and 14 years old need a long- term foster placement.

My thoughts.
I mentioned last week, that it was National fostering week starting today 16th May 2011.
Colorful fliers with blue eyed, yellow eyed children, smiling, children for sale in the UK 2011.
All we know is that the Parents couldn’t cope, the reasons we will never know?
As we know over zealous Social Workers Nationally remove children with very little evidence to support such drastic action.
The latest attribute is fabricated induced illness, MSBP, in a Country where Paediatricians are allowed to make such a diagnosis without ever seeing the parents or children involved.
A so called professional who is not adequately qualified to make such a diagnosis.
On the medical evidence given by these individuals, via the secret family courts, a child’s future is decided, sometimes on such conflicting medical evidence, THE DAVID SOUTHALL THEORY .
The former results in forced adoption, and in many cases, gross miscarriage of Justice, like in one of my co workers case, where they the Local Authority have admitted to getting things drastically wrong, and his life ruined for ever, the boys were two beautiful yellow haired children.
I feel for the parents of these children, if they see this picture, i wonder if the LA, ever used the kincare option? that Social Services, are obligated to consider under the Public Law guidelines by placing the children with an immediate family member like grandparents? or if they could of considered a special Guardianship, with another family member given the option of taking the caring roll.
I will be checking the statistics the Leicester Mercury have been given ,about the number of children adopted in Leicestershire in the last year.
And if the numbers are higher, i will expose the LA regarding the results if applicable.
