Berkshire Fatherhood Coalition Newsletter

Monday, April 05, 2010

Wow, it has been a long time since our last newsletter. Actually, our last newsletter was February 6th, two full months ago. I meant to keep our newsletter less
frequent, but not that infrequent.
This newsletter is short—darn short—so please read
it.

RECENT ARTICLES

I am pleased to announce publication of three articles since the last e-mail two months ago, all law related but only one family law
related.

A. No confidentiality, no justice By
Rinaldo Del Gallo, III. 04/03/2010 (This past Saturday in Berkshire Eagle)
This is an essay that argues that the psychotherapist privilege affords far too
little protection in Massachusetts, especially in family law cases. You can still read this at the Berkshire
Eagle website by clicking HERE.

B. Law on Libel and Sherriff Massimiano By Rinaldo Del Gallo. A column that
appeared in the Pittsfield Gazette about the libel law concerning Sheriff
Massimiano. No opinion on the merits of the case is expressed.

C. Patent case threatens innovation By Rinaldo Del Gallo. 02/27/2010 Published in the
Berkshire Eagle. Del Gallo writes about the business method exception to
patent eligible subject matter in patent law.

SOME QUICK ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. BERKSHIRE FATHERHOOD COALITION MEETING. We are trying to put together a small
meeting of those interested in the father’s rights movement here in Berkshire
County. Please e-mail back
if you would be interested in attending such an event.
Our
idea was to have a barbecue and talk about the direction of the group and have a
good social meeting.

2. CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF 3RD SUNDAY IN JUNE FATHER’S DAYS:
For those in the Father’s Rights movement generally, this year is the
100th celebration of Father’s Day on its current date of the third
Sunday in June. (The
100th celebration of Father’s Day was 2 years ago, but it was not
then celebrated on the third Sunday of June. Read my Springfield Republican column on
the subject HERE) For more information, you can read
this past article I wrote HERE
on Spokane.

3. RUN FOR DISTRICT ATTORNEY:
Some of you may know through reading the Pittsfield Gazette that I have taken
out papers for District Attorney.
Truth be known, I am completely on the fence about running—it takes a lot
of time. Why am I considering
running? I think our current
District Attorney is unethical. You
can read some of my articles on the subject HERE
and HERE.
I need 1,000 certified signatures
by April 27, 2010 and was looking for volunteers to get 50 or 100
signatures. I currently have a paid
signature gatherer, but he is dropping the ball. Will consider providing legal signatures
in exchange for signature gathering.

4. HEALTH PROBLEMS:
As
many of you know, I badly broke my ankle on December 12, 2009. I am still recovering. Having some health issues, with 3 trips
to the emergency room in last month: I hope to work it out. Once I thought I had
a heart attack, once my heart was racing, and once I could not breathe.
