This is a consultation document on proposals for a revised framework for the inspection of local authority fostering services and independent fostering agencies. Ofsted seeks the widest possible range of views from those who have an interest in, or expertise relating to, fostering in order to ensure that the inspection framework takes proper account of the needs and circumstances of all interested parties. We particularly want to hear from people who have been directly involved in the fostering services: from children and young people, from parents and from foster carers. Above all, the framework must assure the quality of services for children and young people who are placed with foster carers, and support their continuing improvement.
The closing date for the consultation is 31 August 2011.
If you would like a version of this document in a different format, such as large print or Braille, please telephone 0300 123 1231 or email enquiries@ofsted.gov.uk.
