Judge criticises Mackenzie Friend over timing of application to revoke adoption order

Mackenzie friends should have at least a basic knowledge about Family law and such cases as in care proceedings, adoption hearings and adoption appeals, as well private law cases theory with reference to contact issues, residence orders and divorce law, as well as non molestation restraining orders and occupation orders..

Also the Mackenzie advocates being paid large amounts of money out of the misery of parents is very upsetting for me personally ,because PAIN have never ever charged for our services,, and in many cases these advocates do not even bother turning up at court even though they have been paid.

Parents need to research the person they will be paying to assist them in court., and check these advocates are the person they say they are. and if they say that they are having a pro bono advocate with them and they hear that  person is a qualified barrister the parent should check that they are a barrister,

A little knowledge can cause havoc, there are some parents that may still be going through care proceedings , but they start to assist parents and have no real experience, we then as an organisation and have to try and pick up the pieces and some cases may be at the end of a case where there may be nothing we can do to help them only emotional support.

Also new websites are being set up every day by persons who are going through care proceedings the site may be out there to highlight there own case only but they add the PAIN link on their website without asking us, which also ends up with their case being at the final thus to late to do anything to help them..

Another issue is that parents go to 3 or 4 persons from different organisations at the same time, this is why PAIN will never assist persons who are dealing with other organisations as their advocate.
