Dear Alison Jayne,
Thanks for all your contributions so far to help create lasting change for children. After all that hard work, it’s time to pop the kettle on. But don’t put your feet up just yet, because we want you to join us for Tea Time for Change.
Join us – and your MP – for a cuppa on 9 June 2011 (11:00 – 16:00 at Westminster Central Hall, London) and speak out against world poverty. The day will be full of inspiring workshops and talks from remarkable international and political speakers.
At a time of economic challenge it’s more important than ever for us to call for justice for the poorest children. So we’ve joined forces with Action Aid, CAFOD, Christian Aid, Oxfam and Tearfund to bring you one of the biggest ever lobbies of parliament.
The UK government has paved the way on international aid commitment and we thank them for their efforts. It’s vital that MPs understand how important it is to campaigners like you that children in poor countries can get life-saving basics like healthcare and education, so they can break free from poverty forever.
Putting the world to rights over a cup of tea is a British tradition. Sharing a cuppa with your MP gives you a great space to refresh the call for global justice.
Sacha
Campaigner, Save the Children
P.S. You don’t need to be an expert to come along and let your MP know what you think. We’re even hosting a training day in London on Saturday 7 May to give you with all the hints and tips you need.
