We are delighted to announce the launch of our new web site, at the same address www.maypole.org.uk.
It is two years exactly since we launched Maypole’s first web site. We’ve been really encouraged by all your positive feedback. That’s really important to us, as it tells us we are on the right track.
Our new web site will be easier to find, easier for us to send you information, and easier for you to tell us what you need and what you think.
We’ve worked hard to get the site ready for the launch. There is still a lot to do, and that means we’d really like to hear from you what you think, and what else you’d like to see on the site.

Our first year as a charity
Friday, 29th April marked a year since Maypole Women became a charity. Registering as a charity is a rigorous process, requiring proof that the charity is needed, and our aims are for the ‘public benefit’.
During the year we’ve been working very hard to towards safe and fair separation for women and children. Although we are a small charity with limited resources, we are making good progress in making sure women’s voices are heard in family law.
So far we have:
- created our web site and information leaflets
- submission of our report ‘Valuing Motherhood’ to the Family Law Review, outlining the issues affecting women and children at separation
- submission of a summary of our report to every UK MP
- invitation to Government meetings, to advise on how proposed changes might impact on women experiencing abuse, Department of Work and Pensions, September 2010 and March 2011
- response to the Government’s Green Paper ‘Strengthening Families’ April 2011 on how proposed changes to child maintenance could affect women and children
- Awards for All lottery grant to redevelop our web site, Vodaphone World Of Difference Winner 2010
We want to continue our work until all women can end relationships safely and fairly, and children’s full range of needs are recognised in family law.
We need your help to do this. Please see ‘Support us‘ on our new web site to find out more.
