My case is a little old, but the trauma is lifelong my Son and his Partner Amy gave birth to our first Grandchild Hollie Jade, and what should of been a time to celebrate turned into a night of hell several days later, Amy went into labor, early hours of a Saturday morning, Mum and Baby were home 8 hours later, we went round to see our first Grandchild, which was amazing, that night Hollie was rushed into hospital with feeding problems, and vomiting, the staff had forgotten to give her a routine antibiotic injection. We went to Leicester Royal Infirmary, that evening to see her, went to the bed space, and went into utter shock, they had placed my baby Granddaughter into the same Bed space that a Social Worker had taken her Father from some twenty years previous, the medical staff stated that they were keepig Hollie in hospital for three days, in my mind enough time for them to go and get an emergency protection order, and the utter helpless feeling we had 24 years earlier was going to happen again. My husband managed to get me off the ward in a hysterical state, i telephoned two of our groups Childrens panel Solicitors in tears, both stated that the medical staff had no reason to inform Social Services about anything, but when you are in that frame of mind, there was no reasoning with me. Luckily Hollie was home within 48 hours, BUT WHAT SHOULD OF BEEN A TIME OF CELEBRATION WAS RUINED BY PAST EXPERIENCE, THAT STILL HAUNT ME EVERY DAY
