Lets hope that lessons will be learned from the tragic death of Fiona Pilkington and her Mother, who were seriously let down. and failed by the Leicestershire Police Force.
The Mother and Daughter with severe learning disabilities had been, bullied, verbally and physically abused by gangs of youths, on a long term basis.
The house had also been attacked, with reference to windows being broken, front door and windows pelted by eggs.
There had been many calls to the Police by Neighbors, and Fiona’s Mother herself.
The Police failed miserably in their duties to protect a Mother and her vulnerable Daughter, resulting in the Mother taking Fiona, in her car, to a local road, setting fire to the car, killing herself and Fiona.
There are multi agency failings, with reference to child protection, resulting in serious case reviews, up and down the Country, costing the taxpayers millions of pounds, very little is learned from the former, children keep being failed by Local Authority’s, so i cant see any difference with relation to the Police.
Due to the cutbacks within the Police force, will not help, with regards to the protection of the vulnerable.
