James Cook
James qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and joined Ridley and Hall in February
2006 having gained significant pre and post qualification experience in
family and immigration law at a firm in South Yorkshire. James was
promoted to non member partner on 1st October 2009.
James undertakes a diverse range of family cases from Contact,
Residence, Specific Issue Applications and Special Guardianship to
representing parents and relatives in public child care cases including
Care, Placement and Adoption Orders. In addition, he has represented
clients on cases involving the abduction of children, removal of
children from the jurisdiction of the UK and injunctions under the
Inherent Jurisdiction of the High Court. James has represented parents
in proceedings relation to Declaratory Relief and those involving the
Court of Protection and also represents his clients in the County Court
and Magistrates' Court.
