The importance of the child’s voice when enforcing orders under the 1996 Hague Convention

Until Children of the age of 13 years and over, under the clause of Gillick, which means they are at the age to make decisions regarding Care issues, and even be allowed to bring in there own Legal Representation, things will not change.

Children that are 13 years and over should be invited to Child Protection cases, LAC Reviews, Children in need conferences, nothing will change.

The LA have a mandatory obligation to invite Gillick Children to such meetings, but this just does not happen.

Until Children are encouraged to fill in the Cafcass wishes and feelings pack, there will be very little change.
