The shocking figures of child deaths in the UK

We have compiled a master table of all the Serious Case Reviews (SCRs) carried out between 2003 and 2008 into deaths of children under six.
Where possible we have included age of child, cause of death and
persons responsible. However, in numerous cases it was not possible to
obtain detailed SCR information, so these cells of the table remain
blank

Children under 6 who were known to the authorities who died between the end of 2003 and 2008.

The table is incomplete as several councils refused to give any details. For example there is an incomplete entry for Birmingham as the council
only provided partial data. Manchester, another huge council also
refused to co-operate.'
