This Grandmother Had To Fight Without A Lawyer To Stop Her Grandchild Being Put Up For Adoption

This is a total disgrace that a Grandparent in this case was not entitled to Legal Aid, to try and get a Special Guardianship order to prevent the Local Authority going for an Adoption order.

Yes as in the tragic case of Elsie murdered by her Adoptive Father, and the fight of Elsie Grandmother to take on the kincare role, or Special Guardianship order, she was deemed unfit, but her Adoptive Father given so much support that it resulted in her tragic murder, but if Elsie Grandmother had succeeded .within the Family Court arena Shayla would still be alive today.

Legal Aid in these cases are means tested, but Grandparents who gladly take on the kincare role are left to experience financial hardship, as they are not given as much money as Foster Carers.

Foster carers that work for Private Foster care agencies can earn up to £500 per week per child.

Local Authority's would rather use the more expensive options at the taxpayers expense, and support the on going procedures to Adoption.
