Top five tips for supporting kinship carers

Top five tips for supporting kinship carers: Charity Grandparents Plus offers advice for anyone, including teachers, social workers and local authorities, on supporting kinship carers.
Give all Grandparents Public Law LEGAL AID, TO BECOME A PARTY INTO PUBLIC LAW CARE PROCEEDINGS.
Many Grandparents maybe be slightly above the Legal Aid savings threshold with regards to savings thus are not entitled to it, so it may not be an option to take on the Kincare Clause or Special Guardian Role.
Grandparents who do take on this very important role are left to cope on the basics financially at a time of great Government austerity.
If they can hardly feed themselves they are hardly going to fight to take on the temporary care of the Grandparents.
But as we all already know LAs are very happy to spend thousands of pounds at the tax payers expense to reward Foster Cares up to 700 pounds a week per week per Child, but they are not willing to pay Grandparents a few pounds to keep Children within the Family Unit.it just says everything.
