The voice of the Child is being heard a lot more cases within our Private Law caseload.

Our Solicitors are taking on cases where the Child can be represented by a legal team in their own right.

In most of the Public Law cases, CAFCASS do not even bother to assist the Child with regards to filling in the wishes and feelings pack.

Often lately within our caseload, Children have managed to meet the Judge in Chambers to discus their wishes and feelings.

Hopefully in the future children will be able to voice their opinions with regards to Public Law cases.

All Local Authorities now have a mandatory obligation to invite Gillick children to Child protection case conferences and LAC Reviews, and encourage them to take an advocate with them.
