However I've asked my library to acquire a copy of PCAG's Welfare
Benefits etc book, and I've ordered my own copy. Now its a case of
which arrives first. The Dept of Work and Pensions reply to my email
was, in my view, a lot of goobldygook.

I'm seething. If I'm correct job-seeking parents are entitled to £57.57 per child regardless of age of child, plus a 'family premium' of £17.40.

West Berkshire Council's breakdown of how Foster Parents should divide
up their huge Child Allowances allocates £40 to a 16 year old Child
for Clothes, Saving and Pocket Money.

Amount left for rest of 16+ year's maintenance costs -

Parents Dependant on State Benefit - £17.57
Foster Parents
- £290.33

Newport Council Holiday Allowances -

0-4 year old - £483.00
5-10 year old - £550.32
11-15 year old - £685.04
16+ year old - £833.20

Note - the first Council, (Surrey), to reply to my question of what
help it gave to Low Income Parents to try to prevent their Children
being given away to More Financally Affluent Foster Parents who were
then given substantial, non-means tested Child Allowances to provide
the Children with a standard of living that their own Parents couldn't
afford to provide them with ......referred me to its web-site!

Have raised the issue with a couple of Government Departments. Am awaiting responses.

Value-research.
