MY THOUGHTS
Did anybody see the BBC 1 program last week children in poverty?
A Leicester single parent family were involved, a young Lad of about twelve living with his sixteen year old sister and their Father, who was struggling for a good few years financially, after his wife had left them when the boy was two.
The young girl had just started college but the DWP had taken the child benefit away, which he was still entitled to, six weeks later he still not received the money what was due to him, after the DWP had admitted their mistake.
Two family’s from Glasgow were highlighted, living in damp houses, which were exacerbating the childrens health conditions, the story’s were told from the childrens point of view, in their own words, of how some days their parents would go without food to feed their children.
The Leicester family had one loaf of bread in the fridge, the boy was being bullied at school, because his trousers were two short in the leg, he was forced to wear his sisters white blouse, and his shoes were tattered.
The housing conditions in which the Glasgow families were living in were absolutely appalling, the ceiling of one house room was falling down, because of the dampness.
Childrens clothes were blighted with mould due to the atrocious living conditions.
HOW CAN THE UK GOVERNMENT ALLOW OUR CHILDREN TO LIVE IN SUCH FILTHY CONDITIONS AND SEND OVER 814 MILLION POUNDS FOR OVERSEAS AID.
The poorest in Society are having problems getting the benefits they are entitled to, including myself who have gone through turmoil to get support allowance i am entitled to, dating back from February 2011.
I will be back at work before the money is paid, WITHOUT MY SAVINGS AND HUSBANDS SUPPORT, the begging bowls would of been out.
