Court of Protection "unlikely to consider streamlined procedure appropriate" for authorisation of deprivation of liberty in living arrangements of 16/17 year olds, says judge

Child to be represented by the Official Solicitor as a part of the Court of Protection.

Very important Family Court Judge.

The Child now 17 will be under Adult Social Care when he reaches 18 next year, so new provision for new system LPS not required.

The present DOLS system will work along with the new Liberty Protection safeguarding for one year.

Under the present DOLS system An Application is required to the Court of protection to put a child who is 16 years of age on a DOLS under the NEW LPS PROTOCAL A 16 YEAR OLD CAN BE PUT ON A LIBERTY PROTECTION SAFEGUARD WITHOUT GOING TO COURT.
