Some common sense at last.

It is not rocket Science is it, less traumatic for the Child, cheaper to the taxpayer.

LA have a mandatory obligation to consider placing a child with an immediate Family Member, before Foster Care ever being the preferred option.

Grandparents and other Family Members wishing to take on the kincare or Special Guardianship can become a part to Public Law Care Proceedings, but if they are slightly over the threshold with savings, they will have to pay the Full Legal cost for Representation.

Kincare is in the Child's best interest, but at the early stages Grandparents paying Legal Fees, can be wiped out with regards to finances, so they may well consider not to take on the clause because they may not have adequate finances to feed the Child.

Grandparents taking on the Caring role should be given the same amount of money as normal Foster Carers get, and not left in financial hardship.

Solicitor Nigel Priestley at Ridley and Hall Solicitors specialises in the kincare and Special Guardianship, and has been very successful within the High Court, arena, representing Grandparents, to receive the same amount of money that a normal Foster Carer gets.
