On a Personal basis i went through hell after My Husband started to drink heavily after the death of his Mother and Father within a few weeks of one another.

Yes i had no problems in going to Court as Litigant in person to get a non molestation order as well as an occupation order, did not need to pay a thing.

But divorce was another issue itself, because of owning half a house i was not entitled to Legal Aid.

I was not able to get any money out of the house, so was forced to struggle.

I had to hand the house back to my husband because i could not afford the bills, because the DWP stopped my benefits, impending appeal.

I was forced to rent a room in a shared, and got though nearly all my savings.

Luckily everything turned out well in the end, he stopped drinking, so no problems now.

But the new Legal Aid will also assist Parents when they are fighting in the Courts for their children when Hospital Trusts take it to Court to get the life support turned off with reference their children..

We have already seen the huge amount of money hospital trusts pay out in legal fees to terminate the life support of babies, but these poor parents were not entitled to any form of legal aid.

Now in the future there is some hope that these parents in the future might be entitled to legal Aid..
