LEGAL CHANGES REGARDING ADOPTION AND FOSTERING CAME INTO OPERATION IN SCOTLAND ON 28TH SEPTEMBER 2009

New legal changes concerning Adoption,and Fostering in Scotland, came into operation on 28TH September 2009.
The changes allow the same sex,and unmarried couples to Foster,and Adopt children in Scotland.
Provision within the adoption Scotland act of 2007, mean Councils, will no longer restrict their options too married couples.
Barbara Hudson BAAF Director within Scotland stated, by allowing unmarried people too adopt, will increase the number of potential parents, she also stated that the changes would put the child, at the center of the fostering,and adoption process.
Comment, children have very little voice, with regards to the whole process, within the family court process anyway.
