This is certainly the truth, within the UK, Care Proceedings have increased by as much as 80%, since the tragic death of Baby Peter, the Family Courts are in meltdown, due to lack of Guardians, which in some areas of the Country, there is a five month wait for these professionals, when in fact the former, should be appointed, within a week, of a Case reaching the Family Court Arena.
Cafcass have brought in new Guidelines, to overcome the backlog of Cases; these temporary rules will be used until March 2010.
In the meantime Children and Families will be failed, on a large scale, leaving children at risk of abuse or even death and in many cases innocent Parents being left in limbo, being apart from their Children for an unacceptable time scale.
