The Research that i have done over the past few weeks,have revealed that many LA are using Section 20 of the Children 

Act, are keeping Children on these orders for many years without ever going to Court.

Many Parents are being put under pressure by Social Workers, under duress to agree to place Their Children into voluntary care,without knowing the protocol.

Legal Aid cannot be granted at this time, Social Services often keep children on this order for many weeks or ever Years have we have all seen in the Media over the past few months.

One Boy was placed from birth to 9 years of age.

Parents cannot get Legal Aid to fight their case.so are left in utter mire.

They legally have the right to go to the Foster Carers house, and take their children home, but in this case, Social Workers will often go for an Emergency Protection Order, at this time Parents will be entitled to Public funded Legal Aid.

LA, Are keeping children on these orders for many years and below is the links to my research highlighting this.

Quite a few LA,have refused to let me have the information,stating it will cost to much money to disclose the Information.

A few LA have breached the FOI Compliance time allowed for such requests and i am still in the process of waiting for Internal Reviews.

This order should only be used for a short time, where LA, and the Police may be investigating cases.

RUTLAND COUNCIL SECTION 20 ORDERS.

The LA would not comply stating that there was very few children living in the area and any disclosure could identify a child..

COVENTRY CITY COUNCIL SECTION 20 ORDERS.

The LA, did have the information, with regards to the highest amount of time a child was on a section 20 order, stating it would cost to much to comply.
