To jab or not to jab, that is the question!

This case surrounds a child in Local Authority care, and the questions around giving children the corona virus vaccination when they are looked after by the Local Authority.

Also there is the subject of Gillick Competence.

In this case the Child was deemed to be Gillick Competence and he requested himself to have the vaccine.

There was a different opinion by the boys parents, the father requested that his son should be given the vaccine, the mother disagreed and sent she did not want her son to receive the vaccine.

The Mother sentiment was as follows.

The court noted the strength of opposition from the mother. She averred that the vaccinations were unsafe and not tried and tested like many other childhood vaccinations. She produced generalised evidence which the Judge determined was anti-Covid-19.

The Courts opinion about the Boy being Gillick and requesting the jab, the judges granted in favour of the boy and his father and the Court ordered that the vaccine should be given to the boy.

The Judgment is found on the link below.
