Twins forced into mechanical restraint chairs at school awarded £80k compensation by council

Two young twin boys were aged 10 were placed in a restraint in their chairs in a special school..

Their  Human Rights were being breached under the Human Rights of 1998 by being put into a restraint.

The parents saw them restrained in the chairs at the special school on a regular basis and became concerned about the issue..

The parents took their children out of the special and began to self educate the children at home.

Both children were suffering from autism spectrum disorder.

In June 2011, a clinical psychologist visited and witnessed one of the boys strapped into the Hardrock chairs in the classroom..

The boys have now been given 40 thousand pounds compensation for the ordeal, and Local Authority failings by subjecting the boys to restraint and breaching their Human Rights.
