'Selling everything' because of universal credit

Parents will loose Children to the Care system because of Government Austerity.

Local Authority's have a duty to assist Individuals financially if the likes of this Tragedy occurs.

But simply they do very little to help, only referred to food banks.

One of our Cases involved a Father and Son aged 11.

The Mother had died of cancer three years prior to this horrendous tragedy happening.

The Father had serious long term medical conditions, his benefits were stopped, he had no money to feed his 11 year old Son.

The LA refused to assist financially, thus the Child was removed and placed into long term Foster Care.

Result the Father could not go to any contact sessions with his Son.

Result He committed suicide.

The Local Authority were only to happy to pay Foster Carers in this case, sometimes Foster Carers working for private agencies can earn up to £500 per week per Child, but were unwilling to assist with keeping the Father and Son together.

Things will get a lot worse due to the fact that austerity cuts have resulted in Persons loosing their homes,due to loosing their benefit, AND MORE CHILDREN BEING PLACED INTO CARE.
