The decisions of family courts have profound and long-term effects on the lives of those involved and cumulatively on society as a whole.
Jack Straw made this comment the other day about the opening up of the Family Court for Public scrutiny.
Yes decisions that are made within the Family Court arena, do have life long effects, i know because it happened to me, my Son was taken wrongly into Care in 1986, after sustaining a spiral fracture of the right tibia, after jumping from the side of the bath, and landed awkwardly.
A Pediatric Radiologist, based at Leicester Royal Infirmary was given a set of X rays, and asked to make an opinion, of how he thought the fracture occurred, the decision made was non accidental injury, the so called professional didn't even see us the Parents,or our Son, the Patient.
He was taken from Hospital on a place of safety order into foster care.
The Powers to be backed down in the end, they said the incident could of been caused accidentally, and he was returned to us after 12 agonizing weeks, later to be found to be suffering from brittle bone disease.
The effect has ruined my life forever, with constant depression, Crohns disease, and other long term medical conditions, i was a fit and happy go lucky Women prior to this event.
I was threatened with the termination of my work contract last year, because of my long term sickness record.
I fought the decision on my own, without union representation, because they were unable to find anybody, i even managed to get my HR file under the Data Protection, i am off sick once again, now is my 10th week.
The hate i feel for Social Services is wrecking my life, the PAIN will not go, i have seen counselors galore with no success, the hurt will remain until the day i die.
Wrong decisions made in these Courts, are actually killing People, one is a case i cannot talk about, because of the wishes of the Family, and i know of a few of the Sally Clark Scenarios.

PAST EXPERIENCE
My beautiful baby granddaughter Hollie Jade was born on 1st march 2008,a much wanted little girl, previous to this my sons partner had experienced a miscarriage, which left heartbreak for all concerned.
MUM and baby were allowed home within 8 hours, and we her grandparents and uncle went round to see her.
During the night Hollie wouldn't settle and developed feeding problems, and after advice from the midwife she was taken into hospital.
I went to the hospital to visit and was told she was on ward 11, the pediatric unit within our local hospital, the staff stated the baby would be kept on the ward for tests and observation.
All of a sudden i started to panic, she was on the same ward her father was taken away from by social workers twenty years ago, he had suffered a fracture after jumping from the side of the bath, we were accused of non accidental injury, and was taken from hospital on a place of safety order by social workers, but was returned to us 12 twelve weeks later, after being found to be suffering from brittle bone disease.
After the past experience i was convinced our pride and joy was going to be taken from us once more didn't happen but that's the fact, my life was destroyed forever, over a false allegation of child abuse.
