Dear friends
It's with great despair that we have to advise you that the Family
Court Judge in Swansea ruled yesterday that baby J is to be put forward
for adoption and denied a life with his natural birth mother.
His mother, M is obviously distraught having battled for 17 months to
prove that she was more than a 'good enough' mother to care for her
baby.
The judge made several comments as to her decision but much of it was
based on…

My child was removed from me by CPS due to false allegations and them
claiming neglect. She was placed in foster care and later placed with
biological father. This has been very emotional for all of us and now
they want to remove my 3year old born 3 days after being ruled out of
my daughter's life, but everything just keeps getting pushed out
further and further. I need my children back NOW, I have never been in
trouble and this is ruining my kids and I want to…

The head of child services in Kent has blamed "human error" after it emerged a social worker was warned about a man who went on to kill his baby daughter.
Christopher Sellman, 25, was found guilty of the manslaughter of 25-day-old Tiffany on Tuesday.
Rosalind Turner, of Kent County Council, said a family member had told a social worker that Sellman's partner was pregnant but it was not logged.
She apologised and said it was a regrettable case of…

An extra £23m is to be put into front-line social work, Children's Secretary Ed Balls has announced.
Summaries of official inquiries into the most serious cases of child abuse in England will be clearer, he added.
These were part of a package of measures he unveiled, a year after Lord Laming's review into child protection in the aftermath of the Baby P
case.
But the Conservatives said Serious Case Reviews should be published in full and Mr…

Broken child protection
SIR – It has come as no surprise to us that more children are being taken into care since the Baby P case (report, March 7). Over the past year, our
caseload has increased substantially as parents and carers seek our advice
and support when falsely accused of abusing their children.
It is apparent that many of these cases are knee-jerk reactions to instances where there has been no abuse at all. The unfortunate outcome in…
