Its a pity that some of this money cant be put into some of the family help Group helplines like PAIN FASSIT and FASO,we work tirelessly with no funding, to help both children and families try and stay together, and give advice, and attend child protection case conferences, when Solicitors cannot attend, because Public Law funding does not apply to the former, due to the costs.
We work on a shoe string, with an occasional donation, we offer services on bank holidays, such as…

The family fostering clause should be used already, before a child is ever taken into care.
The kincare clause highlighted in the Public Law Guidelines have been in use for many months, but Social Services would rather place children with foster carers, costing millions of the taxpayers money, than placing a child with an immediate family member like Grandparents.…

The best idea is keep these Private Law cases out of the family law court scenario, and try and get the individuals to sort their problems out by counseling, via marriage guidance, there is also a waiting list for Guardians to be appointed, because of the increase in Care Proceedings.
It is a different case if there is violence recorded in a relationship, obviously, that would have to go through via the family courts.
Another problem is the finance involved within Private Law, we are…

Justice on trial
The Criminal Cases Review Commission edited by Michael Naughton
*
When Ludovic Kennedy died last autumn, every obituary rightly paid tribute to his book, Ten Rillington Place, which told the story of Timothy Evans, the illiterate Welsh lorry driver wrongly convicted and hanged in 1950 for the murder of his child. There have been other admirable books on individual cases of…

Children that have been taken into Care wrongly are going to be traumatized even more, its just basic common sense that when an emergency protection order is instigated, and a child is taken from hospital,or a school, and don't get contact with Parents and siblings for several weeks, are going to be left confused, this will relate more to younger children, say a four year old,and could possibly have in their mind, that Mun,and Dad don't love me scenario, and have been dumped.
I remember…

I am really beginning to despair, in regards to so many Local Authority Social Services Departments failing in their safeguarding abilities to protect vulnerable children.
And now Sandwell County Council has received the lowest statistics in 13 out of 15, of its duties in protecting the most vulnerable in our society.
There has been no improvement in their failings from three years ago.
Seriously i am sure a bunch of five year olds could do a better job, than a bunch of…

Wow another so called professional being made accountable for unacceptable practice and could be struck of the register.
A highly paid management team member should set a good example as a roll model, with his job description being an assistant director of children’s services.
Trying to encourage a junior member of staff to have a termination in the early stages of pregnancy and other cases sexual harassment, this individual should be kept permanently away from children and young…

For once a report into the restraint of children by the Youth Justice Board has been made public, by a complaint made by the Information Commissioner.
It is in the Public's best interest to divulge such due to the pain that could be inflicted by using these techniques..
The Youth Justice Board have just 36 days to implement this clause, which could improve health and safety, and prevent injury to children and young people.…

I know when they took our Son away on the old place of safety order back in 1986,after he sustained a fracture,by jumping from the bath and landing awkwardly, the Foster Carers, trashed his fisher price cassette recorder, after leaving us in limbo for three weeks, with reference to us not knowing where he was placed.
All in the best interest of the child, utter contempt, when they left his older brother with us.…

Justice for once, somebody getting probation for making a false allegation, a short term in prison i think.
The Person accused will live a life of trauma, and if living in the UK,would possibly suffer injustice of the allegation remaining on a enhanced CRB disclosure until they retire, and may disclosed on the new ISA list.
Some people take the trauma of such allegations to an early grave, as in two of my cases.…

Within the UK many children go missing from childrens homes.
Last year in Leicester young girls that were in a Local Authority childrens home were found to be prostituting themselves within the streets of the City, many possibly taken from Parents, because of abuse ,and left in the system again to be abused again, i urged all Corporate Parents within the city, to act immediately to safeguard the welfare of these young girls, some were as young as 13.…

Petition, Petition, Petition....
The family justice system is suffering a great deal...
Of the many symptoms it harbours, none is perhaps more visible than its lack of responsiveness to the myriad consultation papers and constant lobbying by politicians and pressure groups alike.
With gentle determination, families continue to search for signs of life in a listless system that is too weak to function. It…
