Care applications remain at highest ever level

Cafcass report care application figures for April to August 2010

Care application demand in the period between April and August 2010 has remained at a very high level. Cafcass received 3,744 new applications.

This figure is 3.7 % higher when compared to the same period last year.

The April, May, July and August application numbers were the highest

ever recorded by Cafcass for these individual months.…

Only one care order in 400 is being refused, the cost of such proceedings have increased tenfold



Prior too April 1st 2008, it cost Local Authority's £150 too instigate care proceedings,and now can cost as much as £4000.

With the current financial restraints, it will be interesting too see if the
