A SHEFFIELD mum-of-seven is set to win back her teenage son from the care system following a three-year campaign after she made "remarkable" efforts to improve her parenting skills, a court heard.
The 13-year-old was earmarked for fostering due to concerns about his mother’s capacity to look after him and alleged neglect he suffered, London’s Civil Appeal Court was told.
In August 2006 a judge made a long-term fostering placement order.
The…

Tonight at approximately 5.30pm two ladies knocked at my door and told me they were from Social Services and was my name ……. (asking Christian name only) I said yes and they asked to come in which I did and led them into the kitchen where myself and daughter were making a cake. I might add at this point that I was quite nervous at having Social Services in my house and know I should of asked for names etc and I probably would have eventually if the following had not…

OUT-LAW News, 20/10/2009
Police forces can keep a record of spent convictions on a single central database without breaking data protection laws, the Court of Appeals has said. Police would have had to delete a million records from their system if they had lost.
The Court reversed orders of the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and the…

Absolutely appalling figures, that one in Seven Local Authority's are failing children, and families in one way or another.
It is about time all Corporate Parents in these areas took their responsibilities seriously, and put pressure on the so called high fliers in power to put their Departments in order, so that our children can be safeguarded, and receive a decent standard of education.…

Dear Petition Signer and friend of the Baynes. I thought you should know.
Yesterday, a pre-trial court session was held at 1:30 pm in the Chilliwack Court House. Zabeth and Paul Bayne and their legal representative Doug Christie were present as was the legal counsel for the Ministry of Children and Family Development. In court the lawyer for MCFD admitted that with respect to the two boys, MCFD possesses no evidence of physical or emotional abuse or neglect. And remember it was he…

Why the Children Schools & Families Bill implies a statutory reversal of
Clayton v. Clayton [2007] 1FLR 11 CA
1. The current law is that it is a Common Law contempt (declared in
s.12(1)(a) AJA 1960) to publish information relating to child proceedings
heard in private (i.e. general public not admitted, even if accredited press
are) such as under the Children Act 1989 or in wardship. Information means
substantive information about the content of the…

We had might as well give up on all Social Services, with what i have seen over the past two months, and now Leeds have failed their on the spot Ofsted inspection, and now there is problems within the education Department, within the city. Not only are children being left at risk of abuse, but are not going to make their full attainments, within a failing education system. Welcome to the 21st century, and a third world country a total disgrace.…

Well what a surprise?, Cafcass, are failing in many parts of the Country, and by more than 75% in the East, and West Midlands.
Responding poorly to increased user demand, not rocket science is it?
Increase of Care Proceedings, requires more Guardians, in the meantime our Children are left at risk of neglect, and abuse, possibly even death.
Guardians should become involved, within a week, of a case reaching the Family Court arena, the Family Court debacle will…

A tragedy that should of never happened, my heart goes out to all concerned, especially the Natural Parents, we don't know the reason why these children were placed in Foster Care at the moment, but it is going to be a double tragedy for them, especially at this time of the year, just before Christmas.
A 17 month old Baby left unsupervised by a swimming pool, a disaster waiting to happen, another Local Authority statistic, rest in peace little one.…

It seems to me that all Local Authority are in a shambles, due to the increase in Care Proceedings all over the Country, and now Rotherham Social Services are to be taken in hand by the Government.
If Social Workers cant keep their basic documentation up to date, they certainly will have problems safeguarding vulnerable children, especially if a Child is on the Child Protection Register, and is not monitored at regular intervals.
Lets hope Rotherham decide to act on their…

I will be writing to Ed Balls in the next 24 hours, with reference to Parents that have not been invited to Child Protection Case Conferences.
One Grandmother that is acting as a kincarer, for her Daughters Child didn't know that the Child's name was on the Child Protection Register.
PAIN won the right for Parents to attend case conferences in the early 1990s, we won this through the private members bills and the MPs, once more we are seeing a downward spiral, which is totally…

Yet - who signed a Commons Early Day Motion 19 years go pressing the government to fund Parents Against Injustice. Yes, one Alistair Darling.

I was told the other day by a PAIN client that her Social Worker had stated that our National Support Organization was one of those Social Services hate groups.
I can assure all these Professionals in the Country that the Group is there to advise Parents, about their rights, when involved in Care Proceedings, and Family Court hearings.,and are around to ensure that Family's are given the correct information, at a very traumatic time.
The Public Guidelines are disregarded every day…

I totally agree that Childrens Services need more time to prepare for Ofsted inspections, Social Services have a daily battle on their hands at the moment, to get through their heavy case loads with the alarmingly increase in Care Proceedings, due to their own System failings, resulting in the death of vulnerable Children, but the on the spot inspections should continue, to oversee what improvements have been made, with reference to safeguarding children, and other aspects of concern, such as…
